Product Description How to Play Game play begins with all 9 number tiles flipped up. Players take turns rolling the dice and laying down the tiles that add up to the same value of the roll. The game ends when someone shuts the box by getting all tiles down, or when a player cannot put down any more tiles based on the value of the roll. The value of the remaining tiles that cannot be flipped down is counted, and the player with the lowest score wins.

Game History Shut the Box is believed to have originated in 12th Century France off the coast of Normandy. Fishermen would play this fun, fast-paced dice game to pass the time and even placed bets on it after a long day at sea.
